Welcome

Today is the first day of lent, a time that, in the tradition I was raised in, one either gives something up or takes something on as a tool for mindfulness regarding the season. I deeply enjoy this entire season through Easter and many of the associated traditions, and have varied from not celebrating it at all to having really involved devotional studies.

This year as part of my lenten devotional, I've decided to start and maintain this page as a place of reflection. I invite and welcome comments from others- hopefully this can also be a place of discussion.

Usually when I talk about my faith or religion in general, I am very guarded and very careful to make the person I am talking to comfortable and able to easily understand. In fact, I try to orient what I'm saying to their way of seeing things, rephrasing my paradigms within the context of their paradigms. To speak more freely on this page, I will largely not be doing any of that here. I will be speaking as if the reader is already mostly on the same page with me. As such I ask that anyone reading this be open or at least sensitive. I also welcome you to bring up anything you have a problem with or are curious about.
